Ending this year’s Malcolm Arnold Festival weekend, the BBC Concert Orchestra is joined by Chief Guest Conductor Keith Lockhart and clarinettist Julian Bliss for a gala concert.
The programme features Bernstein’s ever popular Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and Malcolm Arnold’s powerful Symphony No. 4, which was inspired by it. Julian Bliss performs Copland’s Clarinet Concerto – a work admired by Malcolm Arnold – and Arnold’s own witty and virtuosic Scherzetto for clarinet and orchestra.
