French conductor Pierre Bleuse makes his debut with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducting BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Santiago Cañón-Valencia in Saint-Saëns’s ever-popular First Cello Concerto.
We begin with German composer Jörg Widmann’s con brio – inspired by the music of Beethoven, and end with Chausson’s Symphony in B flat major, often considered to be his masterpiece.
