Everybody in the arena raises their hands to applaud the local lad Overeem, as he becomes the third Dutch fighter to end the fight early tonight.

Fast and efficient business from the Netherlands fighters, and the crowd appear to be fully satisfied as ‘OVEREEM, OVEREEM’ rings throughout the stands.

"Overeem had lot of pressure on his shoulders tonight. That was one of best knock outs I have ever seen. 

"This man is very, very, dangerous and he definitely deserves that next shot."

Overeem is referring to what will be the first ever UFC show at the legendary Madison Square Garden, after the state of New York lifted its ban on MMA events.

Assuming his toe hasn't actually fallen off before then.

Alistair Overeem: "We are going to get that belt on November 12th at Madison Square Garden. I am going to beat that winner and then we will be defending the belt here in the Amsterdam Arena.

"My toe was on a 45-degree angle. I was like 'no!' - but luckily the medic put it straight back in."

The medics needed to check on Arlovski too - but he was up for the official decision.

Overeem meanwhile is having fun with his post-match interview. Quotes to come.

Overeem dislocated his big toe with that kick. His team have popped it back in.

The first minute of the second round is a game of chess. Overeem then with a one-two combo.

And boom, a jumping kick from Overeem right under the chin of Arlovski, followed up by a straight left, drops the former champion. He mounts and half a dozen punches later it's over.

The octagon-side photographers lens' were swinging from side to side, left and right, up and down during that first round. Both fighters danced around the mat and the poor media didn’t know where to look.

The fans are off their seat and loving every minute.

Overeem is tentative initially to take the mount but when he does, he's able to slam in two right hands to the side of the face.

An up kick moves Overeem back to his feet and he sees out the last few seconds of the round.
