  1. UFC Fight Night recap: Manuwa calls out David Haye after knockout win published at 23:22 GMT 18 March 2017

Jimi Manuwa scored a first round knock-out at UFC Fight Night in London - then challenged David Haye to face him in a boxing ring.

The 37-year-old fighter left American opponent Corey Anderson out cold with a perfectly executed left hook three minutes into the first round.

Knockout specialist Manuwa then challenged the winner of next month's light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson - before issuing his surprise challenge to David Haye.

The challenge comes amid the hype for a potential MMA versus boxing superfight between Floyd Mayweather and UFC champion Conor McGregor.

"I want the winner out of DC and Rumble," he said afterwards.

"It's time for a title shot now. And David Haye, let's do this. Dana White, Eddie Hearn, let's make it happen."

British MMA veteran Brad Pickett suffered a defeat with just 70 seconds of his career remaining.

Pickett, who announced before the fight he would be retiring tonight, was caught with a headkick by opponent Marlon Vera in the closing stages of the final round.

The finish to the fight silenced a crowd that had been firmly behind fan favourite Pickett

“I felt ok but the referee's got a job to do," said Pickett after his defeat.

"Now it's time to spend some time with my family."

Icelandic cult favourite Gunnar Nelson secured an impressive second round submission against American fighter Alan Jouban.

After controlling the first round, Nelson connected with a big punch to the chin, before locking on a guillotine choke just 46 seconds into the second round.

Young British fighter Arnold Allen scored a split decision win over Finnish fighter Makwan Amirkhani.

However, two of the undercard fights in London had to be scrapped at short notice on medical grounds.

First, English fighter Ian Entwistle was hospitalised after failing to make weight for his bout with Wales' Brett Johns, then Tom Breese was ruled unable to compete against Oluwale Bamgbose just before the event started.

    Manuwa v Anderson - Round 1

    What a KO for Manuwa.

Anderson feinted a takedown before trying for a punch that failed to connect. Seconds later, Manuwa connected with a perfect left hook to put Anderson spark out.

    Manuwa v Anderson - Round 1

And here we go. Tentative start from both men as Anderson looks to move about a lot more.

Anderson shoots in for an aborted takedown, before Manuwa lands with a punch and a high leg kick. The American responds with a couple of strikes of his own, bobbing and weaving before failing with another takedown.

  12. "If you stand in front of Rumble you're gonna get slapped" published at 22:46 GMT 18 March 2017

But who does Corey Anderson back for the title next month?

Both Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson go into tonight's fight with one eye on April's UFC 210 card, where Anthony Johnston faces Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title.

With Manuwa ranked fourth in the division and Anderson ranked number six, victory tonight would put either man in title contention this year.

Anderson cast his eyes over the forthcoming fight to give BBC Three his prediction on who he could be facing for the belt.

  14. TALE OF THE TAPEpublished at 22:43 GMT 18 March 2017

UFC Fight Night: Manuwa v Anderson

Tale of the Tape: Manuwa vs AndersonImage source, BBC Sport

Stand by for a traditional striker v grappler battle in your main event.

Despite recently turning 37, Jimi Manuwa's looked relatively strong since joining the UFC in 2012, with just two losses - to title contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson.

Last October he landed an impressive second-round knockout win over Ovince Saint Preux in Manchester, and the striker will be looking to capitalise on questions about Corey Anderson's chin going into the fight.

Anderson made his name with the fastest ever victory in the Ultimate Fighter, scoring a TKO finish over Matt Van Buren in just 61 seconds.

With a wrestling background - he competed in the NCAA - the 27-year-old has a much stronger ground game than Manuwa, and will be looking to break down the Brit's takedown defence.

Jimi Manuwa is confident the fight will not go the distance

    Jagroop Shinbt
BBC Sport in the O2 Arena

Other than Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson, Croydon's Jimi Manuwa is considered to be the hardest hitting fighter in division and his devastating knock out over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 204 showed just how dangerous he can be.

UFC 211 title contender Junior Dos Santos once told me, “when heavyweights trade punches in the octagon, you can hear them land from the top rows,” and although Manuwa is a light-heavyweight, you can be sure his punches will ring throughout the arena if Corey Anderson is unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of one.
