St David's Hall 2014-15 The Planets

BBC NOW’s Resident Composer Mark Bowden takes inspiration from the latest scientific findings about the origins of the universe, as he composes an alternative creation to Haydn’s classic, with a libretto by Welsh poet Owen Sheers. It’s paired with Holst’s vivacious and powerful Planets suite, depicting the characteristics of Earth’s neighbours in the solar system.
