The BBC Philharmonic at the 39th International Music Festival of the Canary Islands
The BBC Philharmonic visit Tenerife, Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín for the 39th edition of the Canary Islands International Music Festival. The concert will be conducted by Juanjo Mena, with whom the BBC Philharmonic have a long-standing relationship.
Beginning with Gerhard’s famous Don Quixote: Dances from the Ballet before the BBC Philharmonic is joined on stage by soloist, German-Korean violinist Clara Jumi-Kang to perform Britten’s Violin Concerto. Clara is an artist of impeccable elegance and poise who has forged an international career with leading orchestras and conductors in Asia and Europe. The second half of the performance will feature a trio of Ravel, beginning with Pavane pour une infante défunte, before moving into La Valse, and finishing with Boléro.
