Sound and silence, stillness and motion are woven together in the music of Arvo Pärt. Celebrate the 90th birthday of ‘the father of Holy Minimalism’ with a Late Night Prom from acclaimed Pärt interpreters Tõnu Kaljuste and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir – named one of the world’s best choirs by BBC Music Magazine. The programme also includes excerpts from Rachmaninov’s exquisite Vespers and music from Pärt’s fellow Estonian Veljo Tormis and from Ukraine-born, Estonia-resident Galina Grigorjeva.
