Young British conductor Ben Gernon joins the orchestra to perform Halvorsen’s entrancing and colourful Norwegian fairy-tale pictures. New Generation Artist pianist Zhang Zuo performs Strauss’s Burleske.
The programme is completed by Mendelssohn’s First Symphony. Written by Mendelssohn when he was just 15, this is a timeless work of contrast and youthful energy.
