BBC Philharmonic Orchestra Studio Concerts Albeniz and Ginastera at MediaCityUK Studio

Under the baton of Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena, the BBC Philharmonic will be continuing to explore the colourful sounds of Spanish and Latin American music.

The programme features two masterpieces by Albéniz. We open with a selection from The Magic Opal- an English operetta and close with Suite Española- written in honour of the Queen of Spain. This suite portrays different regions and musical styles of Spain.
The orchestra also performs Ginastera’s Panambi - an authentic folk tale of love and witchcraft from an Argentinean regional tribe.
