Concert Information

Virtuoso percussionists O Duo join the BBC Singers to explore the impact of the human voice when harnessed with percussion instruments of many kinds.

Bob Chilcott’s The Miracle of Spirit explores water while Veljo Tormis’s blood-curdling incantation is a curse upon the metal from which war and destruction are fashioned. Cecilia McDowell’s brand-new piece celebrates the joy of music itself. It receives its first performance alongside Vaughan Williams’ classic choral Shakespeare settings from 1951.
