Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines)

Travelled with the Doctor between The Highlanders and The War Games.

Rescued from the battle of Culloden, in 1746, James Robert McCrimmon joined the TARDIS shortly after the Doctor had undergone his first regeneration.

Jamie made up for his lack of intelligence with his bravery and loyalty. Amazed and astounded by technological wonders beyond his comprehension, Jamie frequently relied on the Doctor for explanations. An encounter with an alien race that had kidnapped thousands of human soldiers to act out elaborate real-life war games forced the Doctor to ask for Time Lords' help.

As part of the Doctor's punishment Jamie was returned to Culloden, and his memories of travelling with the Doctor were erased.
