Darren, kind of curious to know who you are, I grew up in Horseley and my Nans name was Glennis, I think I may know you, but, I can't leave an email address, so, hopefully you can find me online in Canada
David Symcox
Seems strange to see the name Symcox on here as it is my mothers name. She too is from Horsley along with the rest of the family.
Darren May. Surrey
If memory serves me correctly, I think we planted at the strip of grass right next to the school building.
David S Canada
I dont think the tree is being planted on the village green in that pic. Might be behind the village hall by the shed. H Read is right about the wudhus business too.
Mr x
I recognise myself,Iam in the middle behind the sign and standing behind the right shoulder of the girl with the flowery dress. I'm wearing a white t shirt and look more like a girl than a boy (70's fashion, what can I say). I was 5 years old at the time and do seem to remember an Andy Cooper.
David Symcox, Canada
Do you have any names for the Jubilee picture. I think my little brother may be sitting on the floor second from the left.
[Sorry, Andrew, we don't... but maybe other people might recognise some of the faces in the photo - Ed.)
A Cooper, formerly of Horsley
I'm afraid Horsley is not affectionally known as Wudhus - that is Horsley Woodhouse, which is a short way up Lady Lea Road. A common mistake, and very annoying to Horsley residents!
