Here you find yourself at the highest point in the Peak District - and the hightest point in Derbyshire.


At this point, if you're adventurous enough to make the journey, you are 636m, or 2,087 feet, above sea level near a place called Crowden Head.

Kinder Scout is set within the Dark Peak area of the 555 sqaure miles of the Peak District National Park - the fir national park in Britain.

The Dark Peak is an area of dark tablelands, dominated by heather bilberry and moorgrass.

Kinder Scout together with other high points, such as Bleaklow and Black Hill, forms a part of the largest area of land in England over 610 metres (2000ft).
