Notes for parents and teachers about a study of rubbish and recycling in Northern Ireland.
This is a study of rubbish and recycling in Northern Ireland.
Young local people look at the issues involved with getting rid of rubbish and explain the importance of teaching people to reduce, re-use and recycle.
Other videos look at recycling in Cuba, what happens to all the nappies that are thrown away every year and how we can re-use food waste in the garden.
The study encourages pupils to consider:
• what happens to all the rubbish they throw away
• the problems that the disposing of rubbish causes
• what happens to the stuff we recycle
• the importance of reducing, re-using and recycling
• the practical steps they could take to reduce the amount of rubbish they throw away
• where their local recycling facility is and what happens there.
