James wasn't in Peep Show. Not even in the background.

He was, however, very funny as the leader of Tommy's anger management classes in Saxondale, and played a Lallakiss in Hyperdrive, as well as appearing in The Mighty Boosh, 15 Storeys High, Comedy Nation and The 11 O'Clock Show.

James' association with David and Robert goes way back to their days together in the Footlights, Cambridge's infamous comedy society.

He went on to direct their stage shows The Mitchell and Webb Story (1999) and The Mitchell and Webb Clones (2001) in Edinburgh, while also appearing as one third of comedy theatre company Population:3, with Titty Bang Bang's Lucy Montgomery and The Mighty Boosh's Barunka O'Shaughnessy.

He went on to be a regular cast member on That Mitchell and Webb Sound for BBC Radio 4, and has contributed to many shows with writing partner Mark Evans.

Among other characters, he plays a henchman, an eccentric millionaire and a waiter with embarrassing thoughts.
