Martin Luther King - They Were the Heroes

Martin Luther King on the struggle to earn racial equality in America and the many famous faces that helped along the way.

Who was Martin Luther King Jr?

Martin Luther King Jr. was a brave and inspiring American who believed everyone should be treated fairly—no matter their skin colour—and he wasn’t afraid to speak up about it (in a calm, peaceful way!). Instead of fighting with fists, he used words, marches and big dreams, including his famous “I Have a Dream” speech that still gives people goosebumps today!

Thanks to Martin Luther King Jr., unfair rules began to change and more people were treated with kindness and respect. Every January, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day to remember his courage, learn about being fair and to remind ourselves that even one person with a big heart and a big dream can help to make the world a better place 🌟✌️
