Quiz: Henry VIII's Wives: Out of Order

We've mixed up the order of Henry VIII's six wives, are you able to put them back into the order of when they were married to the then King of England?

Who were Henry's wives? (Out of order!)

CATHERINE OF ARAGON

It was very important to Henry to have a male heir to the throne, but unfortunately Catherine couldn't give him a son! Because of this, Henry decided he couldn't be married to her anymore and had to try for a son with a new wife! So... he divorced her.

CATHERINE HOWARD

She was only 19 when they got married, and he was 49! They were married for less than two years and did not have any children. Catherine Howard was accused of flirting with other men, not the way to behave when you're married to a temperamental King! As punishment, Henry sentenced her to execution in 1542.

ANNE BOLEYN

Anne Boleyn is one of the most famous of Henry VIII's wives. She gave Henry a daughter, (who later became Queen Elizabeth I!) but that wasn't enough for Henry. He later accused her of adultery (being unfaithful in their marriage), primarily as an excuse to be able to divorce her and marry someone else! Since adultery against the King was treason, she was sent to be beheaded. Whilst lots of people, even today, believe she could have been unfaithful, there isn't any definitive proof!

CATHERINE PARR

Henry wasn't very healthy by the time Catherine came along to be his wife. Henry VIII died in 1547 at age 55, and Catherine Parr outlived him! They didn't have any children together, and after Henry died, Catherine went on to marry again and have her daughter, Mary.

ANNE OF CLEVES

Henry's marriage to Anne of Cleves only lasted 6 months before (you guessed it), he divorced her to marry someone else! Henry was displeased with her appearance and character and annulled their marriage before they had the chance to have any children. She remained in England and even earned herself the nickname 'the King's beloved sister' because they eventually became friendly.

JANE SEYMOUR

Jane Seymour DID manage to give Henry VIII a son! Prince Edward was born to them both in 1537. The sad part is, she died less than two weeks later, from complications after the birth. She was only Queen for just over a year.
