Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition
Explore two of Hereford Cathedral's unique treasures.

The Mappa Mundi is a huge map, over 700 years old, showing the world as medieval people understood it. It's a world teeming with animals, peoples and places, many of them exceedingly strange, and all of them with stories to tell.
The Chained Library is the only library of its type in which all the books are still chained to the shelves. Created around four hundred years ago, many of the books in it are much older, written on parchment by scribes, with beautiful illuminations.
