How To Take Good Photos

People: Providing context

alt text
© TOM ANG
  • Including people in your pictures gives extra information about the location. This shot with the pastor silhouetted in his church, in Bampton, is a good example.
  • The presence of cars and other machinery, materials, goods or animals can provide information or create a counterpoint to pictures of buildings.
  • Use maximum depth of field (keep as much in focus as possible) as uniform sharpness helps knit all the visual elements together.
