| | | The award-winning McAlpine Stadium has already become a landmark because of its futuristic appearance. It is the home of both Huddersfield Town Football Club and of the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Club which is now in the Super League. Completed in 1994 it stands on a reclaimed chemical refuse tip and was RIBA Building of the Year in 1995. The structure also houses a modern gym, swimming pool and hotel. REM and the Eagles are amongst the musicians that have taken part in concerts at the stadium.
