This year we are celebrating our twentieth anniversary.
On Monday 30th November BAFTA ran an online webinar to mark the occasion, as part of their BAFTA Guru Live season.
The event covered the past and present of BBC Writersroom, with a look ahead to our future, with panellists Anne Edyvean, Head of BBC Writersroom, Peter Bowker, writer, (The A Word, World on Fire, Marvellous), Isis Davis, actor/writer (Killing Eve), Manda Levin, Senior Commissioning Editor for BBC Drama, Vinay Patel, writer (Murdered by My Father, Doctor Who).
The event was chaired by Miranda Wayland, the BBC’s Head of Creative Diversity.

To mark our twentieth birthday we asked just a small selection of the writers who have come through our development groups, or have supported our work, to share their thoughts.
Watch the clip below, featuring Russell T Davies, Jed Mercurio, Nicole Taylor, Jack Thorne, Marnie Dickens, Kirstie Swain, Charlie Swinbourne and Vinay Patel.
We also asked Kate Rowland, who set up and ran BBC Writersroom from 2000-2015, for her thoughts on our twentieth anniversary.
