Changeable weather on the way

We've seen the back of the cold and dry easterly winds for a while as our weather is going to come in from the Atlantic over the weekend.

That means it will turn milder but also become wetter and windier too with low pressure bringing spells of rain.

Tonight will be dry with some low cloud and mist forming and will turn turn chilly as temperatures inland drop as low as 2 or 3 Celsius in places with a ground frost.

Saturday will start off dry and bright in places with the best of the sunshine in the north once any mist clears.

In the south, though, cloud will increase with spots of light rain later in the morning.

During the afternoon, rain will spread across the whole country and the wind will pick-up too with top temperatures between 9 and 12 Celsius.

In the evening it will be breezy or windy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle but a mild night with lowest temperatures only 9 or 10 Celsius.

On Sunday a cold front will move east across Wales bringing more rain - some of it heavy too with fresh to strong south to south-westerly winds.

Expect gales in the north west with gusts around 55 mph but the rain should gradually clear during the afternoon leaving a drier and brighter end to the day.

There should be some sunshine in the north and west with a few showers but a mild day with highs between 11 and 15 Celsius.

Next week the changeable weather pattern looks set to continue; some sunshine on Monday.

On Tuesday rain and strong winds will clear to blustery showers.

More rain is expected later on Wednesday into Thursday but hopefully the weather will become more settled by next weekend.

I will keep you posted.
