People are being encouraged to follow in the footsteps of Alexander Cordell, author of Rape Of The Fair Country, and enter a literary competition with a twist.
The Cordell Mini-Saga competition was launched at last month's National Eisteddfod. Entrants must write a story of exactly 50 words that is set in south Wales over the last 200 years, on the theme of 'community' or 'unbelievable'.
Cordell himself entered sections of Rape Of The Fair Country for a competition in the South Wales Argus newspaper in 1957.
Inspiration can be found on the Cordell Country website and by visiting the free annual Cordell Festival, which will be held at Rhondda Heritage Park on 18 and 19 September.
Visit the Cordell Country website for further information on the competition.
