Reaching the summit

Derek Brockway

It was very busy with lots of people going up and down but unfortunately the peak was shrouded in cloud, so I couldn't see much but there's always a sense of achievement in reaching the summit.

On Sunday I went for a much easier walk around Harlech but had to cut this short because the weather took a turn for the worse which was a shame because there is a great beach and the views are wonderful on a clear day.

Monday, I spent a few hours in Llandudno and the weather was drier and brighter in the shelter of the mountains with a warm, gusty wind.

I took the tram up the Great Orme and enjoyed great views.

After lunch I went for a stroll on the pier and then headed back to the car park arriving just in time, to find a traffic warden about to slap a ticket on my car!

I was only a few minutes over too...but promised him better weather, so he let me off ;)

The A55 was really busy heading east so on my way home so I took a detour, passing through places I'd never visited before such as Betws yn Rhos and Bylchau.

The B4501 road to Cerriydrudion through the Clocaenog Forest is a lovely drive passing Llyn Brenig.
