This week's show is now available via the BBC iPlayer. Please listen again any time between now and the start of the next programme.
The start of any new year filled with the potential for breathtaking new Welsh music is exciting - but 2013 has a particular resonance for me: it's my 20th year playing strange and brilliant sounds on BBC Radio Wales. So, I'm determined to make it a great one, to do my utmost to find the most interesting Welsh talent I can - regardless of genre and prevailing wind - for you to marvel at. Or swear at. Or feel inspired by.
So, there will be a little less waffle this year. And many more splendid noises. That's the plan, anyway.
If you have any splendid noises, or know of anyone who is both noisy and splendid, then nudge them to submit music to us via the BBC Introducing Uploader. You can also send music/gig info/correspondence to themysterytour@gmail.com.
Starting as I mean to go on, this week's show features 15 artists I've never played before on the radio. The numbers aren't all that important, but the quality is paramount.
Elsewhere, the Pooh Sticks' legendary frontman, Huw Williams esq., tells us about The Mountain Men - an almost lost, Welsh freakbeat classic.
Lara Catrin translates Zimmermans.
Ben Hayes dips a tweedy toe into the world of computer game music... but something very different from the cinematic, emulated strings we've become used to on current releases.
Please join us next week for more of the same, but different.
