I am at the Eisteddfod in Llanelli this week and it looks like suncream and a waterproof will come in handy.
We had an unexpected downpour at around 9am this morning from a cluster of heavy showers, which moved in from the Bristol Channel to south Wales but the sun is now shining and it feels warm with a light breeze.
August is normally the wettest summer month in Wales and at Aberporth in Ceredigion over 40mm of rain fell in 24 hours last Friday and Saturday - over half the monthly average of 68.5mm.
The weather this week is going to be a bit changeable with a mixture of sunny spells and a few showers.

Weather chart for Tuesday 5 August 2014
A spell of heavy rain is expected on Tuesday night clearing on Wednesday morning. On Thursday most places should be fine and warm apart from a shower here and there.
On Friday low pressure may bring another dose of wet weather but there is some uncertainty about this so it would be worth keeping an eye on the forecast over the next few days.
