We filmed the links for the first programme of the X-Ray summer series in Port Talbot on Thursday. Cue lashing rain and gales.
The night before I was desperately hoping Derek had got the forecast wrong. No such luck. "Don't say I didn't warn you," he merrily tweeted to the team on the day.
Despite the weather having become a standing joke in the X-Ray office, we'll be out across Wales for the next six weeks, come rain or shine. And we have some really strong investigations coming up, plus some great results for our viewers too.
Rachel Treadaway-Williams has been speaking to one family whose home was totally devastated by a fire. They discovered that it started in their dishwasher. Worryingly, there are thousands more faulty machines still out there. We'll be making sure you know how to check if yours is one of them.
Rhodri is looking into electronic cash, known as e-money. The problem is, when there's new technology to help make it easier for us all to pay up, there are always people who are looking to exploit it.
We've met one couple who were left hundreds of pounds out of pocket after receiving a phone call out of the blue. The good news – X-Ray has been able to help them, but it's really important to know how to protect yourself if you need to use e-money. We'll have all the details you need to know.
And what have I been up to? Well, I've been doing my very best Tom Cruise Top Gun impersonation, of course! I always love the creative treatments the X-Ray team come-up with to help illustrate our reports, and producer Amy Quant certainly out did herself this time!
She found an aircraft maintenance and repair company in the Vale of Glamorgan where we could shoot the links for a report into sky high charges for changing details on your plane tickets.

Lucy Owen in Top Gun mode
After going through strict security we arrived at the huge hanger, which was packed full of all kinds of aircraft. Our cameraman Paul Hawkins was in his element. Everywhere he pointed the camera was just a great shot.
We were ready to film the opening images of the report. With the Top Gun theme swirling in my head, a flying jacket borrowed from production co-ordinator Valmai Griffiths (she says she dug it out of the attic, we're not convinced), aviators courtesy of Rhodri Owen and a helmet under my arm, on loan from one of the pilots - my transformation was complete and I strode out from behind a jet.

Shooting a close-up on board an aeroplane
Move over Tom, this is an X-Ray report to take your breath away – just like some of those airline charges.
