July was on course to be one of the driest on record but not anymore following the recent heavy rain and thundery downpours.

Tomorrow a warm front will move north bringing rain but it will introduce much warmer and humid air from the south.

On Thursday temperatures will rise into the mid to high 20s Celsius with a south-easterly breeze. Thursday will be the hottest day of the week.

On Friday temperatures will not be so high but still feeling warm with some sunshine.

Over the weekend, it will turn cooler, fresher and breezy with a few showers. The showers will be heavy in places with a risk of thunder but some pleasant sunny spells are likely as well for the start of the National Eisteddfod in Denbigh.
