We've had a great summer so far with plenty of warm and dry weather but we are going to see some very unsettled conditions over the next few days.
There's a muggy feeling to the weather again today and some heavy showers scattered around across the south and west of Wales but not exclusively.
A weather front is lurking across Ireland and rain will be approaching Cardigan Bay by mid-afternoon. A very heavy band of rain will gradually move eastwards and there is a Met Office yellow warning of rain in place for Gwynedd and Conwy.
There is the potential for some localised surface water flooding and we could see up to 80mm (just over 3 inches) of rainfall across Snowdonia with highs of 18-22C
The rain band will continue its journey eastwards throughout this evening with some torrential downpours. Overnight it will clear the west and by dawn it should become lighter and clear much of Wales.
Behind the cold front it will feel less humid and Friday should see some drier and brighter weather with the odd isolated shower, but for the majority of us, it will remain dry.
The weekend isn't looking as good with an autumnal feel to the weather on Saturday. The winds will be strong to gale force, accompanied by more rain which will clear eastwards. Sunday will be bright and breezy with a risk of a few showers.
Next week begins unsettled with sunshine and showers but by the end of the week, a ridge of high pressure is building which should settle things down and we might just have some good weather for the bank holiday weekend.
