This week's show is now available via the BBC iPlayer. Please listen again any time between now and the start of the next programme.
Fortunately I had remembered to imbibe enough antifreeze-like liquid to prevent this week's show from being hampered by the Arctic temperatures. Let no one say that I'm not prepared to go the extra mile for Welsh music, in the cause of putting as phantasmagoric a radio show together for you as is humanely possible.
So, to that end, godfather of the Welsh underground, Mr Alan Holmes, brings something by the hardly remembered and under celebrated Dinistrio'r Diniwed into the studio. They didn't release anything officially - and didn't get close to realising their potential together. Alan recorded this particular track off the tellybox. It's a tantalising insight into what could have been.
Lara Catrin translates something unhinged and excellent from Injaroc. Post translation I'm still not sure what they're on about. But it's a great piece of music - and meaning can be rather over emphasised, after all.
Ben Hayes arrives in a Securicor van, complete with armed guard, carrying a very rare piece of vinyl indeed. Oh, it's a CD copy of a very rare piece of vinyl indeed. Still, most importantly, it's a very great recording regardless of its format, from The 23rd Turnoff.
And we have a palette of amazing sonics that'd have Van Gogh a rippling swirl of greens with envy - including debut plays for Fist of the First Man, Mykal Max, Bubblegum Balloon, Kiwi, Baby Brave & the Love Bites, Doppelganger, Na Kika and Jon Moncrieff.

This coming Saturday, Gallops are in the studio talking about their anticipated debut album Yours Sincerely, Dr Hardcore.
