Yellow warning of rain for Sunday

Just as I thought we were done with warnings of heavy rain and windy conditions the Met office issues another warning. This time for Sunday but I'll get to that in a moment.

For now we end the working week on a dull and wet note. The rain is patchy at the moment but it will intensify through this afternoon and this evening. Not nice for the rush hour, but finally it will clear into England late evening. The overnight period will be quiet and cloudy.

On Saturday there will be a dry start to the weekend before the showers get going from the west. Some of the showers will be heavy with limited amounts of brightness in between. It will be a blustery day too.

Then the showers clear and we're in for a cold Saturday night.

Sunday will start off dry but before you know it, heavy rain will come sweeping in from the west. There is a yellow ‘be aware’ warning from the Met Office for the south west and a potential for further flooding.

We also have strong to severe gales accompanying the rain. The wind will be particularly strong across the Irish Sea so we could see some travel disruption.

Next week will start with a short spell of cold weather.

Stay safe and have a great weekend.
