Tim Rhys-Evans, Musical Director of the choir, told the Western Mail when they were nominated for the award, "I didn't think I would ever be up for an award against the Pope to be honest; it's a bit mad.
"We are thrilled to be nominated and it was quite unexpected because we worked on the album for six months and released it and then moved on to work on the next one, so it was a complete surprise when I found out.".
Other Welsh nominees The Fron Male Voice Choir and Rhydian Roberts didn't win in their categories.
