So, after a week's hiatus, where I did battle with the Norovirus and his white porcelain cohort, I'm back on radios everywhere (but mostly in my mum's kitchen) with a hornets nest of Welsh musical creativity - much of it LOUD and RATHER ANGRY sounding.

Which just gilds it with aceness, as far as I'm concerned.

We have a Future Of The Left US tour blog recorded in a car park in St Louis, hours after the band's tour van was broken into. The business of taking rock 'n' roll on the road can be thrilling... for that hour you get to play on stage, it jostles with fighter pilot and Laura Ashley pattern designer as Probably The Most Exciting Job In The World.

For the hours in between shows, though, billions of miles from home, eating inhumane food from service stations staffed by goo-eyed night humans, earning thrombosis reward points squashed into a van you would be forbidden from transporting veal calves in, it's probably not that much fun, truth be told.

Then your van gets broken into.

And the feckless scum who did it smash the window so that the ensuing 15 hour drive to Buffalo is sponsored by Hypothermia Inc.

And they nick the Xbox that is the only thing that's keeping you halfway sane.

And still our heroes don't moan or whinge. There's a stoicism in Andrew Falkous' words that is rather inspiring. See if you don't think so.

We also have the small matter of a brilliant new Future Of The Left recording.

Elsewhere, Lara Catrin spills her translation brains out all over Endaf Emlyn and squeezes them back into her cranium in the wrong order.

Ben Hayes eulogises some Eurythmics... early Eurythmics, that is, which makes it all very OK.

And there are hedgerows full of ace music, including debut plays for Stretch, Gethin Edge and Gai Toms.
