Phew, what an epic episode, or "epic-sode" if you will, this week’s show was. You can relive all the action (and get some exclusive extra stuff) by watching this week’s The Voice Louder:
So, who joined the good ship Voice this week?
Former member of girlband Cleopatra (remember them?) Cleo Higginsgot, like, the fastest chair turn EVER with Jessie pressing her button after three seconds.“I couldn’t believe I got a coach after 1 note!” Cleo says. Cleo chose to join Team Will – so why Mr i.am? “I’ve got so much to give," she said, "I’m creative and I’m a mental musician and I’d love to work with someone with that same energy which will.i.am has.” Aside from a successful singing career, Cleo also dreams of opening a cake shop – “I want to call it Love Muffins.” You heard it here first, people: you'll soon be able to take a bite out of Cleo's Love Muffins.
Rocker Mitchel Emmsmoshed his way to a place on Danny’s team. Mitchel doesn’t only have an amazing voice – he also plays guitar, bass, drums and keyboard. And that’s not all – “I’ve just finished my own album from my bedroom” Mitchel says. He sings, he plays, he writes – he’s what’s known in the rock world as a triple threat (okay, maybe not the rock world).
Pocket-rocket Elise Evansjoined Team Tom after surprising everyone with her powerful vocals. She even surprised herself as she thought no-one would turn for her. “I just thought it’d just be a great experience” she says. “But then I saw Tom turn and I nearly cried. I’ve been a fan of Tom since I was six. “ And she also left a little bit of herself on stage. “Tom knocked my fake nail off. There’s probably a nail on the stage somewhere!” Er, thanks Elise.
Conor Scott was up next and his energetic performance wowed Danny. After joining Dan the man’s team, Danny went backstage to meet Conor’s family. But all Conor could think about was how tall Danny is - “he’s massive – I was looking up at him!” Interesting fact: Conor is scared of big birds like geese, swans, ostrichs and peacocks. But pigeons are OK.
Bubbly northern duo Divawere up next and joined Tom's team. So, do they live up to their name? “We’re called Diva but we’re not divas,” they say. Okay, makes sense so far... “Occasionally we’ve been called Divvy but no diva demands from us. We’re quite easy going.”
Fashionable fashion student, Leah McFall, easily made it through to Will’s team with her amazing vocals. She’s definitely got her own quirky look so how would she describe her style? “I like charity shopping and finding treasures amongst rubbish,” she says. “I wear a lot of man’s clothes because I think they’re better most of the time. My jacket at the Blind Audition was a man’s jacket.”
Also now part of The Voice family is Lovelle Hillwho sang ‘Diamonds’ and joined Team Jessie. She’s recorded music in the past including one song which became part of a big ad campaign. But she’s got a strange method in the recording studio... “I like to record songs in the dark,” she says. “Shoes off, no distractions. It helps me focus.” Sounds fun.
And finally Lem Knightsalso joined Jessie (his idol) after she sand an impromptu duet with him on stage. “I couldn’t move. I was, like, ‘This is NOT HAPPENING’” Lem said afterwards. But what’s something we don’t know about him? “I have size 15 feet!” You know what they say about people with big feet? That’s right, big voices.
Don’t forget you can play The Voice Predictor Game online or with our new app now and predict who will make it through on next week’s show. Speaking of which, we’re at the later time of 8.20pm next Saturday so put it in your diary!
Bye.
