Calendar Girl Susan is Miss October

Can you believe it’s nearly October? I mean, really can you? While most of us are aghast at October’s speedy arrival, Susan has further reason to be apprehensive of the new month.
That’s because Susan is Miss October in Ambridge’s Calendar Girls calendar.
Last Christmas, women from the village bared all to put on the popular production and out of it came a 2016 calendar for all to admire.
There was safety in numbers at the start of the year with a group shot to adorn January. February featured Elizabeth, who was pleased with her photo. She was followed by Jennifer, who took it all in her stride.
Justin didn’t hesitate to compliment Jennifer’s calendar image while round at Home Farm, adding that Brian must feel like Hugh Hefner married to Miss March.
There’s more to Justin’s interaction with the Calendar Girls: Back when the calendar photos were being shot by Robert, he accidentally walked in on Lynda "en déshabillé", posing with a milk stool and some corn sheaves. He sent some flowers by way of apology.
Bigger Buns
More recently, Lilian was flattered by the attention she received as Miss August, although she wasn’t best pleased with Eddie for hollering “bigger buns!” at her from his van.
Soon it will be Susan’s turn, but while others have enjoyed their time in the spotlight, Susan is nervous of her unveiling.
Lynda was absolutely thrilled with the finish of the printed calendars and she was keen to show them to Susan, but as Miss October leafed through one she let out a gasp of horror. There was a bit of her showing that should have been covered up! Susan insisted they couldn’t be sold without something being done to cover up “the offending part”.
Much to Lynda’s relief, Susan came up with the plan to use stick-on silver stars to preserve her modesty and the two of them set to work on the mountain of printed calendars.
But now, nine months on, Susan’s concern for her nude photo is running high. What will people think of it? Does it highlight signs of aging? And most of all, will all of those stars have stayed stuck?
