Never Mind The Balalaikas

Albania, I do not like your Eurovision antics. Diminutive breakdancers and a bloke in all-covering turquoise lycra. It was kinda pervy, but not in a funny way. Even Graham Norton struggled to find the mirth in it. Actually, the event has knocked Norton into a sulky commentary that does not suit him. There's only so much you can say about the Shakira knock-offs and the endless Cossack dancing. This is not supposed it entertain me, but I'm struggling to get even a bit irate. I could maybe live with Denmark and the German thing with the Cab Calloway routine was almost alright. If it hadn't come through the Ricky Martin filter. Anyway, a refreshing drink beckons....

It is a real shame that STILL Eurovision cannot stop the very clear political voting that goes on. This competition is a sham and we should not bother to enter again. The Norway song was good,it was catchy but some of the voting was clearly suspect, which makes a complete mockery of what this competition was set up for. If we continue to enter we will always be disappointed as the Eastern block countries have such a clear hold over the voting we don't stand a chance! Andrew you would be wasting your time, which is better spent elswhere. Let's face it that is why Terry Wogan left!

    The Ricky Martin filter!! Superb.

I felt a bit sorry for Graham Norton trying to keep cheerful but in a perverse way the voting was as much fun as the songs....predicting the scoring by trying to test the geography and who liked and who hated whom!

I agree with richminniemouse - time to withdraw gracefully!
