Daisy Lowe leaves Strictly
Daisy Lowe became the eighth contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing. With Blackpool a mere week away, all our dynamic duos battled it out for a place at the Tower Ballroom. Sadly after the results were announced, Daisy and Aljaž found themselves facing Greg and Natalie in the dreaded Dance Off.
After both couples had danced a second time, Tess asked the judges based on the dance off alone, which couple they wanted to save and their reasons for saving them.
Craig chose to save Greg and Natalie saying “Well this couple totally and absolutely nailed the dance this time round, and that couple is Greg and Natalie.” Darcey Bussell agreed saying “Both couples upped their game beautifully, gave great performances making it very difficult, but the couple that had more dynamic effect, are Greg and Natalie."
Bruno Tonioli however chose to save Daisy and Aljaž and said “What a clash of titans, Venus the Goddess of Love and Mars the God of War both wonderful, but for me I kinda found the Godness of Love irresistible, Daisy and Aljaž.”
Head Judge Len had the casting vote and chose to save Greg and Natalie saying “Well obviously because it’s a split decision that shows the closeness of this competition however I have to go with my brain not my heart and my brain tells me for a far more polished and technical performance I go with Greg and Natalie.”
Talking to Tess about her Strictly experience Daisy reflected “I’ve loved every minute, everyone here is so unbelievable you have no idea! The make-up, costume, production, cameras, everyone, the judges, thank you so much for everything I’ve loved every moment. Hang on, I’ve missed one, my hero (to Aljaž), thank you for everything!”
Aljaž said “Firstly thank you, you’ve been the most joyous in rehearsals. On the weekends, you’ve taught me so much, you are the most beautiful person, inside and out, you’re a beautiful dancer and thank you for making this Strictly unforgettable for me, thank you.”
