See the couples' emotional reactions to the news of Thom and Iveta's departure

During Saturday’s show Thom and his pro partner Iveta Lukosiute performed an energetic Cha Cha to Jessie J’s ‘It’s My Party’. Although the routine received mixed reviews from the Judges, they scored a respectable 27/40. However despite their middle of the leaderboard position it wasn’t enough to save them from dancing again in our Results Show alongside an equally shocked Simon Webbe and his partner Kristina Rihanoff

The Judges couldn’t hide their dismay that both Thom and popstar Simon Webbe were in the Dance Off.

After dancing again, initially it looked like Thom might make it through to Halloween week after both Craig and Darcey chose to save him. However, the pendulum of fate swung the other way as Bruno decided to save Simon based on his routine being the most polished. Leaving the final decision on who would go through to next week with a clearly anguished Head Judge Len. He chose Simon and Kristina remarking their footwork was ‘the more polished’.

Thom spoke fondly of his time on Strictly saying, “it is one of the best experiences of my life“. Thanking his partner Iveta he said, “She has been immensely patient over these last couple of weeks and she couldn’t have worked harder.”

Find out how all the other Strictly couples felt about Thom leaving in our exclusive video and leave your own goodbye in the comments section below.
