With only a week to go until The People’s Strictly for Comic Relief begins, we thought we’d let you know a little more about this exciting new series, and our six sensational stars of the show!

Kicking off next Wednesday 25th February at 9pm on BBC One, The People’s Strictly will follow six lucky people, chosen from thousands of nominees to take part in their very own Strictly experience. They were picked for their selfless acts of charity; all playing a part in changing others’ lives for the better.
Over four programmes our six contestants will come face to face with more sequins, sparkle and spray-tan than they’ve ever seen before. (And we’re not just talking about meeting Craig Revel Horwood!) They’ll be thrown – dance-shoes first – into all things Strictly: experiencing their very own photoshoots, makeover day, and, of course: battle of the Ballroom!
The first two episodes will introduce our People’s Strictly stars properly. For more info, click on the names below to see their profiles.

Like Strictly, you’ll get to vote for your winner, after our couples compete live in a special programme hosted by Tess and Claudia on the 11th March. The winner will then be crowned The People’s Strictly champion live on BBC One as part of the Comic Relief night of TV on the 13th March. The money raised will be spent helping to change the lives of poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and across Africa.
