Leaderboard: Week Ten - Around the World

BBC Strictly Jess

Online Team

Our stars have taken you around the world tonight, and have been brought back to reality by the Leaderboard scores… Some with a bit of a bump!

Following their performances, Caroline and Pasha, Pixie and Trent, and Simon and Kristina are all flying high at the top of the Leaderboard, whilst Jake and Janette and Sunetra and Brendan are unfortunately sinking at the other end. Here’s the lowdown:

Week Ten Leaderboard

Caroline and Pasha’s cheeky Charleston was a Turkish delight, which had our Judges beaming and scored them an overall 39. (A Nine from Craig and Ten’s from the rest of the Judges). Len stated: ‘I had a good vibe about this dance and it was your best yet!’ And Craig gave Caroline perhaps her biggest compliment of all: “I can see you doing that at the final!”

Pixie and Simon fell slightly behind, both scoring a total of 38. Our couple of clever clogs, Pixie and Trent, performed a Viennese Waltz to Tulips from Amsterdam, which was “like watching a delicate flower bloom”. Bruno gushed: “I really, really enjoyed it.” And Craig found it “very, very impressive”. Simon and Kristina’s wonderful wintery Waltz round the Austrian Alps was equally adored by our Judges. Len stated: “Simon, you’re the comeback kid: you’re coming back each week stronger and stronger.” And Craig agreed: “You’ve come such a fantastically long way. You must be so proud of yourself.”

At the other end of the Leaderboard Jake and Janette’s Argentine Tango landed them second last, with a total score of 29 – and their lowest singular score of the series so far with a Five from Craig. Darcey surmised: “You did lose your balance and then we got very messy… It was a shame that that went wrong because I could see that there was going to be something very special there.”

Sunetra and Brendan found themselves bottom of the Leaderboard with the lowest score of 27. Craig felt their romantic Rumba was “awkward on her body” and that there were “too many meaningless wafty arms.” Darcey, however, who has always been a fan of Sunetra’s arm movement, said that her feet lacked the feeling that her arms had, but still felt she “did it nicely” – so it wasn’t all bad!
