Mark Benton and Iveta Lukosiute became the ninth couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing tonight.
Matching their highest score of the series with 29 points for their Samba, Mark and Iveta found themselves in the dance off against Ashley and Ola. Having performed for the second time to Disney’s “I Just Can’t Wait To Be king”, the Judges unanimously decided to save Ashley and Ola, leaving this Lion King waiting no more for his curtain call.
Achieving Iveta's goal to reach week ten, our much loved "Lucky-poo-poo" and Mark Benton take their final bow. Looking back at his time on the show, Mark said:
“What a time I have had! I’ve got to say thank you to my dear friend and fantastic teacher Iveta, she is amazing. I also want to thank my amazing wife and children, the backstage guys, the beautiful band, the judges they are all amazing. I have had a ball.”
Iveta added: “This is my first season and Mark made it so special and memorable. I enjoyed every minute with him, he made me laugh. I taught him dance and he taught me many more things than that. He is my family.”
