Ruth Langsford just misses out on Blackpool as she leaves Strictly Come Dancing 2017
After landing bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night and facing the Dance Off in Sunday's show, Ruth Langsford has become the next celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.
Performing a Slow Foxtrot on Saturday – which wasn't quite slow enough for some of the Judges – Ruth and her Pro partner Anton Du Beke were scored a total of 18, landing them last place out of the nine remaining pairs. Once the public votes rolled in, the couple eventually faced the Dance Off against Jonnie Peacock and Oti Mabuse.
However, the Judges voted unanimously in Jonnie and Oti's favour, sending them through to Week 9 and off the the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. When placing the vote that sealed their fate, Bruno Tonioli said: "I would like to save the couple, that for me I think improved, was cleaner and it was more emotionally moving, for that reason I save Jonnie and Oti.”

Before Head Judge Shirley even placed her vote – who later said she would've also saved Jonnie — Ruth and Anton's fate was sealed.
When being sent home, Ruth told Tess: “I’m disappointed for Anton because he should be going to Blackpool. He’s made this whole thing so much fun, I’ve absolutely loved it, even the judges’ comments, even Craig’s - he knows I love him really! All those wonderful people up there, they all deserve to be going to Blackpool."
"And you Anton Du Beke, are just the most fabulous man, so funny and you are a beautiful dancer and I hope we will be friends for a very long time.”
While they may have just missed out on the chance to go to Blackpool, you can still catch Ruth and Anton on It Takes Two tomorrow night on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
