Ugo and Oti depart the dance floor in Week Five

They've been such a fun couple to watch every week, but Ugo Monye and Oti Mabuse's time in the competition has sadly come to an end.

The pair danced a smooth Rumba to Leave the Door Open by Bruno Mars in Week Five, but their routine didn't wow the Judges, scoring them just 20 points. Once this was combined with the public vote, Ugo and Oti found themselves in their first Dance Off facing Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu.

Both couples upped their game and delivered great performances once again, but the Judges unanimously decided to save Rhys and Nancy.

When making her decision, Motsi Mabuse said: "I feel from the two couples, one couple was definitely stronger in this performance and I will save Rhys and Nancy."

All of the Judges agreed, sending Ugo and Oti home.

When asked by Tess about his time on the show, Ugo said: "I’ve loved it. It’s an absolute privilege to be on this show and all I’ve wanted to do every week is just get a little bit better and I’ve done that. There’s lots of people that I would love to say thank you to. Oti, firstly, just for putting up with me. She said she wanted a challenge and she got one! To everyone else that’s in the competition, it’s truly incredible and I wish you all the very best of luck."

Oti replied by saying: "I am so grateful to be partnered with you. Thank you for having me as a teacher, as a trainer. Seeing you through your injury, I appreciate every single moment that you’ve given to me. I am grateful for the show. To say I work on the best show in the whole country, with the best celebrities is a privilege."

We're so gutted to see them go, they've given us so many great moments in the Ballroom! However you can catch Ugo and Oti together once more on tomorrow's It Takes Two, on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
