Week Seven: Leader board
After the thrills and spills of Halloween Week, our remaining couples took to the Strictly dance floor determined to avoid the dreaded Dance Off! Tonight we were treated to a range of globetrotting dance floor delights including a trip to Italy and a dash down 42nd Street! Characters abounded this week with our couples playing cleaners, cowboys and clothes shop workers. But, as good as their performances all were, the competition has to rumble on and one of our lovely couples will sadly leave the series tomorrow.
So, how did they do tonight, according to the Judges? Here’s a leader board recap to help refresh your memory!

Peter and Janette’s Cheeky Charleston to Basement Jaxx’s Do Your Thing earned them a whopping 38 points and top place in the leader board! Both Len and Darcey awarded them their first 10 (which Darcey was particularly excited about giving!) and Craig complimented: “That was absolutely exceptional!”
Scoring 3 points less with a total of 35, Georgia and Giovanni sprung from their seats to serve you up a hot summery Samba which Len compared to his favourite pizza: “hot and spicy - you killed it”, he said!
In joint top third place this week (both with a total of 34 points) were Anita and Gleb - who wiped the floor with their sparkling Jive - and Jay and Aliona - who performed the first Argentine Tango of the series. Len said to Anita and Gleb: “I’m full of praise because it was terrific!” and Bruno said to Jay: “The feet were hitting the floor like laser-guided missiles!”

At the bottom end of the leader board are Katie and Anton with 26 points; Jeremy and Karen with 21 points and Carol and Pasha with 17 points. Katie and Anton’s theatre-themed Quickstep wasn’t quite the Judges ticket, leaving them third from bottom, despite Len’s compliment that: “It was a fantastic performance”.
It was also more neigh than yay from the Judges for Jeremy and Karen’s cowboy-themed Tango to Go West, which - despite being a lot of fun - proved to contain a tad too much horsing about for the Judges – especially Bruno! – despite Jeremy’s best efforts on his ‘Tango face’! Len complimented Jeremy, however, claiming: “I always love watching you”.
But it was Carol and Pasha that found themselves at the bottom of the leader board, with a total of 17 points from the Judges, who didn’t think Carol presented the best American Smooth, despite showing “vast improvement from last week”, according to Craig.
