After finding himself the in the Dance Off for the third week running, Simon Rimmer's Strictly journey has come to an end.

The Halloween special saw couple Simon and Karen land bottom of the leaderboard with 16 points, placing them in the bottom two yet again following the public vote. As a result, they faced Mollie and AJ in the Dance Off, who then went on to snag a clear run of safe votes from the Judges.

When selecting a couple to remain in the competition, Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: “Well, I loved this routine; I think it was more technically demanding also and, simply put, danced better, and that is Mollie and AJ.”

Despite being saved by the Judges for two consecutive weeks, Simon and Karen weren't so lucky this time around.

Speaking to Tess about leaving the show, Simon said: “It has been the most amazing experience ever, you know, from the minute I walked in through the door. The Strictly experience is just so positive, every single person involved in it is so positive. And like, all of that lot up there, all the rest of the class of 2017, are just magnificent people."

He went on to recall some of his best Strictly memories, adding: "When I danced the Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone and it touched people, I will never ever forget that; our Charleston last week was a giggle, it was brilliant. Every person who has come up and said hello and thank you messages has been brilliant."
