Judge Rinder leaves Strictly

Judge Rinder is the eleventh celebrity to take their final bow and leave the Strictly 2016 stage. Famed for his fabulously funny facial expressions, Judge Rinder dazzled us every week with his superb performances.
This week was Musicals Week, and Judge Rinder and his partner Oksana delivered a spectacular Samba to “Oh, What A Night” from the musical Jersey Boys. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to secure his place in next week’s Semi-Final, as at the end of the evening, he found himself in the bottom two with fellow contestant Ore Oduba and his dance partner Joanne Clifton.
After performing both their dances again, the Judges told Tess which couple they wanted to save.
Craig chose to save Ore and Joanne, citing their “better technique” as the reason.
Darcey thought that both couples gave tremendous performances but told Tess “The couple I would like to save just on their artistry and technique is Ore and Joanne.”
Bruno agreed with Darcey that both performances had been hugely entertaining. “I had a great time,” he declared, “but I have to say that the couple that gave me the better quality overall” was Ore and Joanne.
Len backed up his fellow judges. “I agree totally, it would have been Ore and Joanne.”
Speaking to Tess about his time on Strictly, Judge Rinder was hugely grateful for the experience. “I honestly don’t know what to say,” he said. “It’s a joy to be here. There’s too many people to thank but I even want to thank the Judges. I know how difficult it is sometimes to be a judge and you do it with authenticity and enthusiasm. Thank you all for your comments.”
But Judge Rinder’s biggest thank you of the night had to go to Oksana. “This truly extraordinary person,” he said, “this teacher, has changed me from somebody who could barely walk to music with no experience at all, to somebody with a passion and a love for dance.”
He announced, “You are never too old to try something new and everyone should try dancing!”
Oksana was similarly moved. “This is my first season on Strictly and I had an unforgettable time. I want to say thank you to everyone involved with the show and I’m especially grateful for making this partnership happen.”
