The curtains close on Anneka's Strictly experience
Movies Week didn't have a happy ending for Anneka Rice, as she became the second celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2019.
Anneka and her Pro partner Kevin Clifton kicked off their time on the show with a fun Cha Cha Cha in Week One, followed by an elegant Waltz in Week Two.
In Week Three they performed a Kill Bill-themed Charleston to Woo Hoo by The 5.6.7.8’s, but failed to impress the Judges and landed bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 11. Following the public vote they found themselves in the Dance Off for the first time, facing David James and Nadiya Bychkova, who were also in the bottom two last week.
But after both couples had performed again, the Judges opted unanimously to save David and Nadiya. Bruno Tonioli justified his decision, saying: “I would go for the couple that was more convincing and that delivered more under pressure, the performance was up a notch from Saturday night. David and Nadiya.”
Judges Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas all agreed with Bruno, also voting in David and Nadiya's favour.

Despite being sent home, Anneka ended her time in the competition on a positive, telling Tess: "I’ve just loved this whole thing, I’ve not one negative about the whole experience. We’ve worked really hard, I’m covered in bruises!"
"I love this man [Kevin], it’s been a joy to have that honour, that privilege of learning to dance. It’s a whole new world to me, Tess."
Kevin also shared his appreciation for his 2019 partner, saying: "You’ve put in so much commitment and so much effort. We worked about four hours on one step in that Charleston and you delivered that Waltz last week, then to come out and deliver that Charleston... the improvement you’ve made, I’m so proud of you. It’s been an absolute joy.”
While it may be the end of the road for Anneka and Kevin, you can still catch up with the couple on It Takes Two this Monday, 6.30pm on BBC Two.
