Hey the first to comment. Not sure what your aim is Anton. Are you trying to make a fool of Nancy? (maybe not too difficult) Your are doing a good job. Why not try performing a dance that is compatable to your partners ability, and not as you appear to be doing at the moment. I've been in the dancing game and I recognise something not quite genuine in the way you are behaving. Please give the lady a chance.

Well; can't believe none of the Anton support team from last series have posted as yet. Perhaps we are less enthused by this years' pairing after the enormous fun we had with Ann Widdicombe. Anyway, come on Anton, turn it round and show everyone just how a top dancer/teacher faces a difficult challenge. Above all, be entertaining and help us to like Nancy, who unlike most of the celebs has no natural fan base. Otherwise I fear an early exit!

Anton, I think you said on ITT that the rumba wasn't the dance of love but more like a handshake. Will you be attempting the first Scottish Presbyterian Rumba in 'Strictly' history as opposed to a Latin one?

I hope your Rumba will earn you high enough scores to stay off the bottom spot this weekend - you deserve some encouragement for trying so hard! After all the more or less nasty comments (unfortunately not only about your dancing) you still hold your heads high and go out on the floor every single Saturday. That's very impressive - I know I wouldn't have been able to... Those kinds of comments easily eats away on your self confidence when they just keep coming, especially if you are supposed to learn something completely new in a short period of time. You are lucky to have such a brilliant Pro partner of course, but still. I don't know you as a person Nancy so I don't know if you put on a brave face to hide that you're hurt by the comments or if you just have the amazing ability not to take the nastier remarks to heart. Either way - you're a strong woman and I admire that in you!

Have to say I am enjoying this partnership a lot which surprises me.Really looking forward to the Rumba on Saturday.

I don't think it is fair to blame your choreography for your recent lack of success. The current thread seems to be telling you to work to your partners strengths.



So perhaps you should sit her on chair for 30 seconds, carry her around for another 30 and let her stand on the desk while Len looks up her skirt for the remainder of the dance.

Why oh why do they not ever give Anton someone who can dance. Ann had loads of enthusiasm but not much skill. If Nancy put in half of that enthusiasm maybe she would be able to dance instead of flouncing around. It is obvious the lady does not remember the routine and Anton is whirling her around trying to cover for her lack of ability and care. License payers are footing the bill for her lackadaisical approach. Poor show - she has to go

Forgot to say, I enjoyed your paso doble, thought it was a good routine. Liked the music too. I actually enjoyed it more than Jason and Kristina's.

Anton I adore you and I just wish that next year, although I love what you do, that you are given a partner worthy enough to allow us to see your dancing tallents.

anton4eva, great to have you back! And thank you for remembering my love for the delectable Miss Boag! Didn't think she and Rory were anywhere near due elimination, but that's Strictly. I live in hope that Erin might get a recall to ITT as was soooo good there last season!

What do you make of Anton's chances? Sad to say amongst the SCD fans I know personally no-one has a good word to say about Nancy, who clearly has no background that would provide a fan base, and who doesn't seem to come over as "fun" like AW or JS. That role this year has fallen to Russell, and so far I have enjoyed his performances with Flavia tremendously.

Nancy, you have one of the best teachers and dancers in the competition so why dont you Listen to him and do as he asks? ALL dancers have to count, if you did so then perhaps you would get better marks from the judgies. When it comes to dancing, Anton really does know better than you so hey, why not give us all a treat this week and show us what you can really do when you put your mind to it. Anton's fans can only support you so far, so please do yourself (and Anton) a favour and show us how good you can really be.

Back again to support Anton - as usual ( diff. name to last year though) However, I really feel he has to go tonight. He looks so cheesed off with Nancy - she can't dance, and has little of the enjoyment we had last year with Ann. Nancy appears to make little effort, and has plenty to say for herself during feedback & with Tess. If she paid as much attention to her dancing as she does to making comments, then we might see an improvement.

Let's hope both Anton and Erin get decent partners next year! Have you noticed that it's the most experienced dancers who seem to draw the short straw each time. Yet again Artem has got a good dancer and may well go all the way again.

Each week I feel even sorrier for Anton. Surely he should of finished the dance by nailing the coffin down and save himself more misery. Please SDC next year can he be given a half decent partner.

Hello everybody. I have just seen my first strictly maybe my last who knows. I do have a question! This Craig revel who ever! what's his deal!!! Is it that he just does not like Nancy or is there something else??? It seem to me that it's not just he does not like her but it's bitchy from all three. The two gay men which well!!! and the girl. Gosh poor Anton, most of the posts point to his lack teaching skills or a desire to make a fool of this lady. But as a dancer I know not everyone has rythem or a natural ability to "count" or DANCE, regardless how patient. I'm sure neither Nancy or Anton would choose to be the JESTERS of SCD..but alas, the poor woman is not a natural, nor even has the potential to count beats of the music, she struggles, but means well!



As for Anton, for years he has been given a celebrity that is unlikely to do well, for one reason or another. So he has concentrated on the more comedic style of dance to be as entertaining as possible, beautifully demonstrated with Anne Widecombe last year. And that suited Anne, but Nancy is not Anne, and people seem to expect more of Nancy, because she is glamorous, slim, athletic looking, when really she is as capable of dancing as Anne was.



My only critique for Anton would be to stop doing the exactly the same lift where Nancy ends up with her legs around his waist, upside down. Two weeks running they have done this, probably because he feels Nancy is somewhat confident with this, and it adds some "razzle dazzle" to their rather awkward routine, but NONE of the other dancers repeat the same move or lift, so Anton must resist the gimmicks, especially repeated ones. Concentrate on getting Nancy to do a really simple routine, but WELL....don't overload her mind with too much to remember. Simple and well done would be far better that loads of content that she can neither remember or master.

I'm wondering whether Anton is being paired with people in order to add some "comedy," value to the show.

Either that, or he's really lucked out over the last couple of years.



Last year, we were "treated," to the farce which was his partnership with Anne Widdecombe, how we larfed our socks off at their antics.



Not content with subjecting us to all that waste of time last year and the loss of decent couples, in their stead in the name of "entertainment," it seems we get to see more of "Widdy," this year with a cameo which showed her "acting," skills to be as wooden as her "dancing," skills, beaten only in the yawn stakes by the appearance of Joe Calzaghe in the same skit..



The whole thing seems to be centered, yet again, around Du Bekes "amusing," relationship with his partner..actually, I do find Nancy amusing, but I think most of that is unintentional on her part.

However, I've never really found Anton Du "Berk," by name and nature, remotely amusing, though I think he's a great dancer and very watchable in that area.



But, if the disaster area that was "Hole In The Wall," taught us anything, it's that there's not a lot in the tank in the of "comedy," or presenting skills.



Perhaps he's going into over-drive this year, in order to convince the "Beeb," to give him another vehicle for his talents, other than dancing..because it seems impossible to shut the man up, with his wittering "wit."

I just want to say that, from talking to people who have been taught by Anton,I am told he is an excellent teacher...very patient and encouraging.(Something I hope to find out for myself next year by the way).The problem is what do you do when you have a pupil who either wont or cant follow simple instructions without arguing or thinking they know better.I am all for a bit of self-confidence and belief in your own ability but sometimes it can be mis-placed......very mis-placed in fact.

Having said all that I love Nancy but just hope for better next year for him.

I don't think Anton likes Nancy and would be quite happy to be voted off, he knows he can't get to the final with her.

Also it's about time Anton was retired, getting tired of his same old act. Bring back Matthew Cutler and Ian Waite!

I'd agree, I'd much prefer to see either Ian or Matthew back in the fold.



I find Anton's shenanigan's more than tiresome, though I'd like to see him with a really promising partner.



Mind you, it's taken several seasons for them to find one for Kristina..

My thoughts.



I thought Anton looked GORgeous and he should think about lightening his hair.



Nancy looked wobbly (as usual) but I did not think that she was 8 marks worse than (lovely) Russell (I didn't think that Audley was worse than Russell either).



Stephalex - hi - it was horrible watching the show and joining in with the live comments on this site last year - so I watch and comment on Digital Spy instead. In fact I thought twice about using this blog at all but seeing anton4ever and gorscot encouraged me to join in.



Finally - I really, really don't like Halloween night and the only dance I truly enjoyed was Jason and Kristina's Quickstep - because the Halloween theme was minimal (so minimal it was practically nonexistant).

Anton - stop trying to make Nancy look a fool. Nancy isn't been given a fair chance if you keep huffing and puffing while you are dancing with her. You are supposed to make your partner look good not emphasis her lack of skill. Very unprofessional of you. You give the impression that you can't stand her and are determined to make her the comedy act. Poor Nancy!

I absolutely HATE both of them!! Anton is extremely irritating, he thinks some sort of really funny comedian and makes a fool of anyone he dances with. Nancy thinks she is something big to, she isn't even famous.

Nancy I think you are fabulous and funny. Bright and beautiful and mature. Please can you dance where I am clear it is not a joke,you are a bad dancer or you look like you are not trying. I would love to see you dance where there is no ambiguity. Anton is such a talented partner. I agree with Craig you can dance in there somewhere but it might be too late to show us.

Oh well, I knew the result last night but here we are, the blog has only just started (why the delay?) and we're out.



I'm not going to complain, Nancy was the worst (but not by such a big gap as indicated by the score board), I just wish people wouldn't delight in someone being knocked out of a fun show.

Yes, it was time to go but would like to say that I think Nancy was a good sport and put up with being one of the most reviled contestants with remarkable forbearance. Anton was busy furthering his career prospects with the BBC rather than participating in a dancing competition and all the judges did was be cruel to her. Didn't like it at all.

I have always loved Anton and would love to be his partner - yes please!!!

However, having just seen the results I am glad to say the public finally found their commonsense and voted Nancy off. Sorry, I love Anton and wish they would give him a partner with more of a chance, but I do not like Nancy. Too full of herself but with nothing to be full of. Unfortunately, one of those supposed 'celebs' who only have talent for getting themselves in the news, but having no real talents at all. Enough said, I'll get over it if they just give Anton a decent partner next year.

Also, would like to see Arlene b ack where she belongs, as well as the likes of Karen Hardy, Ian Waite, Darren etc.

I don't like the way the Beeb keeps bringing in new professionals who want all the limelight (i.e. female dancers wanting to wear skimpier outfits, or not listening to the judges advice re routines etc)



I say, return to the earlier format and proper ballroom costumes and routines, nice and gentle and feminine/gentlemanly. Leave the risque performances to the professional dancers, please. Vincent and Flavia's Argentine Tango was amazing!!

Nancy, a beautiful, intelligent, latin woman! Why on earth was she given such a hard time?

Being of latin heritage myself, it would appear that we are just not acceptable to the British eye, or could it be the plain 'green eyed monster'?

Nancy, well done, you are fabulous, you knocked all the other women dead on 'Strictly'! Anton, how supportive, kind and gentlemanly you were, good on you! Shame on the Panel for their cruel comments!!!

We all thought Nancy danced better by her self it was when Anton tried to dance with her she went to pieces. He never gave her any support. The comment that Alisha made about "she should have stated in the coffin" was very offensive. What does she know about dancing (just repeats what the other judges say) bring back a real judge ARLENE sooner than later.

Also may I add the judges seem to keep back their 9and 10 marks for Jason he seems to know he will win it... IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS ALREADY DECIDED.

Yes, it was time for Nancy to go, as she'd struggled each week to live the dance!

However, I thought Alesha showed herself in her true colours on Saturday night - both in her comments to Nancy plus the way she behaved during the other judges feedback to Nancy. She was rude, disrespectful and showed she had no idea of the effect of her behaviour on poor Nancy. We saw her vulgarity in her response to Robbie's crude dance moves too! PLEASE get rid of her and get Karen Hardy in as a judge as Karen is a professional who always acts like a professional.

Alesha has had her day too, and from the comments on the blogs about her, she should be voted out! BUT I'm so glad that Nancy responded to Alesha's comments with dignity - Alesha could learn a valuable lesson here!

I think that they do this to Anton because he's a gentleman - imagine James or Brendan with Ann W or Nancy?

I got the impression from the training tapes that Nancy was spending more time arguing with Anton than listening to him - if that's the case, no wonder he gave up. At least Ann accepted that she wasn't that good instead of insisting that everyone else was wrong and she was pleased with their performance.

That said, I did end up feeling sorry for Nancy - the judges were much nastier than they needed to be and she was so obviously bewildered - when they vanished from the "Green Room", I suspect she wanted to cry away from the view of the cameras. Where Chelsee got sympathy, she would have been mocked. There's a cruel undercurrent this year where the judges are concerned.

Anton,I'm utterly utterly devastated that it was your turn to leave last night, with you're experience and talent you are nothing but pure inspiration to us all ,you are compassionate,witty and above all a true gentleman . You are the soul of SCD and it is now a much poorer place without you .be strong ,hold your head up high and never give up .

Sort of gutted that Anton & Nancy are out but if it leaves this blog to Anton fans who wish to show their appreciation of his finer qualities and not to all & sundry who just want to have a go at him then that must be a bonus.

I am delighted Nancy is off the show but i am confused.



Nearly everyone admits she was bad, and i do think Alesha was too blunt in her criticism but why if she is rubbish and being bullied by the judges did people keep voting for her?



Some people can not dance. They may want to but they are missing the bit that makes it work. Others can dance but are hampered by size and age.

Please stop knocking Anton's choreography, he can only do what his partner allows.

I had a feeling when I saw Nancy's first dance that unless she could up her game quickly she would go sooner rather than later. I feel so sorry for Anton; nine series and he has never been in a final yet; please give him a partner next year that he could reach the finals with; someone who either dances well from the start or who makes steady and consistent improvement to please the judges while also being popular with the public. If you consider that he has reached the semi finals once ( Lesley Garrett ) and the quarter finals three times ( Patsy Palmer,Laila Rouass and Ann Widdecombe ) I think he could do it with the right partner and I hope he does some time soon. Good luck and goddbye Anton ( and Nancy ).

Why does Anton always get the hoofers that can't dance?

He had Anne Widdicombe that just came along for the ride, and now Nancy who thinks g=her looks are enough to win points, I have b=never seen a 'dancers' with two left feet like her before!



For the next series please make sure Anton gets a physical fit keen 'wannabe dancer', not the geriatrics he has had to date. Anton is a brilliant dancer and deserves the same chances as everyone else and needs a partner who will make the effort!

Not going to comment here on Nancy, she's gone and thats an end to it. But I love, love , love Anton. He is the consumate gentelman. Last year I saw him in a restaurant having his evening meal. During which fans kept coming over requesting autographs, photos with him etc. He gave no sign of irritation even though his food was going cold in front of him. None of this will come as a surprise to his fans but do you think that is why he gets the 'duffs' with all due respect? I mean can you imagine if Brendan was in this dance situation?? As the song says...murder on the dance floor! Huge repect for you Anton and what a treat to see you dancing with Erin on Sunday ♥♥

I really don't understand when people say Anton is a gentleman...his constant 'witty' banter (if you can call it that!) is so annoying and he seems incapable of giving a straight answer to anything without making it into a joke...He didn't help Nancy and definately didn't stand up for her when the cruel comments came her way, almost encouraging them i'd say...thats no gentleman!

Thanks for being so entertaining on the tour last year. I saw you in Birmingham on the Sunday night and it really cheered me up after I had had a really awful weekend!!!!!

Tell Craig if you see him he did a great job choreographing the tour and hope he is doing 2012's!!!!!!! I am already booked along with the 6 year old nephew and some other friends

Hi from me as well Anne....quite agree about it being a fan site.We had similar issues last year but we learnt to rise above it.

Missed the tour last year....seems like it was something special but then I did get to meet Anton & Erin in Newcastle instead......

Had a bit of a shock when it was Anne who answered me about the Hallowean Dance last year!!!!!
