Day 2 on the road to Salford - what have I got myself into?!

Day 2 of our Pedal for Pudsey marathon cycle was a tough one - I had never cycled much more than 5 to 10 miles prior to undertaking this challenge... yesterday I pedalled 87!

It was an amazing day made all the better by good weather which enabled us to travel the highways and the byways of our route from Hemel Hempstead to Nuneaton. We passed through some beautiful villages although we had little time to soak it all up and didn't get the chance to stop off at the many interesting and inviting hostelries on the way. It did bring back to me the line of poetry - this green and pleasant land.

It was tough and although we have now hit the half way mark, day 2 will remain in my memory for some time, especially some of the hills (see photo below).

For more photos and further insight into the trip, have a look at the Pedal for Pudsey blog, where Alice Webb has been busy chronicling our adventures.
