ONE Workplace win at the Oscars

On Monday evening at a glitzy BIFM Awards dinner at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, ONE Workplace was in the spotlight for two awards.

I felt a strong sense of satisfaction and pride to see industry-wide recognition for our partnering efforts of the last few years. It was also fitting for the members of the One Workplace team to be able to celebrate their efforts with recognition from an audience featuring all the major players from the British Facility Management industry.

First up was the Andy Bello led team who worked on what we know as Project Rambo. In the face of stiff competition they won the Innovation in Technology and Systems award. The judges recognised the simple software tool as a truly innovative solution that delivers major benefits in that critical but often misunderstood area of risk management and safety.

Not to be outdone by the guys, Customer Business Director Rebecca Carruthers, who leads the W12 FM team was shortlisted for the prestigious FM of the year award. The award recognises outstanding performance and dedication. Rebecca was highly commended in the category and recognised as runner-up from a field of 12 of the best FMs in the UK. Although a little disappointing not to have secured the top award, this is an amazing achievement and so many congratulations to Rebecca who I hope will be very proud of her achievement.

For us at BBC Workplace these awards give recognition to all partners in the supply chain – Balfour Beatty Workplace, Johnson Controls and the BBC itself have worked together as true partners. No doubt the judges saw this as a beacon for how things can be done in the future.

I’m sure you will join me in congratulating Rebecca and the Rambo team who have truly lived up to the spirit of ‘ONE Workplace’.
